What to Expect at an International Convention
An International Convention is like a Toastmaster Safari! Meet Toastmasters from
around the world, as you hunt for new Toastmaster tricks and tips at the extensive
educational sessions. Awards and recognition reach the highest Toastmaster
levels at this convention…so come out to the exotic location of Calgary, Alberta,
Canada! During this Education Session, your presenter will share her experiences
as both an International Convention attendee and as a volunteer. Laura will
be your guide through convention registration, and maybe even convince you
to become a volunteer. You will discover many more reasons to attend, once
you learn what you can expect to see at the Toastmasters International Convention!

for the upcoming International Convention.
A retired E.R. Nurse who now volunteers at the Calgary Multiple Sclerosis
Society, Laura uses her skills as a Toastmaster and life experience as someone
who has MS to speak to those who are newly diagnosed with the disease. This
gives her the opportunity to speak at nursing homes and to other care providers.
Laura feels lucky to have attended two International Conventions; the
first in San Antonio, Texas, and the second in Toronto, Ontario. Her diverse
experience as convention attendee and volunteer makes her well suited to deliver
this talk.
The country she most would like to visit is Ireland; home of her ancestors.
